Palais de Tokyo Launches Ici et ailleurs With a Weekend on Art in Times of Crisis
Palais de Tokyo in Paris will launch Ici et ailleurs, a new research programme conceived as an evolving resource centre, with a weekend of talks and performances on 30 and 31 October 2026. Developed with Beirut-based Haven for Artists, the weekend asks how art can survive and circulate in a world shaped by crises.
Palais de Tokyo in Paris will launch Ici et ailleurs, a new research programme conceived as a constantly evolving resource centre, with a weekend of encounters and performances on Friday 30 and Saturday 31 October 2026. The opening weekend, developed in collaboration with Haven for Artists, based in Beirut, asks how art can be kept alive in a world crossed by crises.
The programme brings together two round tables on art spaces and editorial practices, a performance by Nadim Choufi and a concert by Sandy Chamoun. Participants include Dayna Ash and Yasmine Rifaii of Haven for Artists, Ymane Fakhir, Nour Amrani, Saadia Gacem and Jean-Baptiste Naudy. Together they will exchange practical tools and connect different ways of making and circulating art, from Lebanon to Algeria, Morocco and Tunisia.
Rather than a single exhibition, Ici et ailleurs is framed as a research programme that will grow over time, gathering resources and relationships across regions. The opening weekend sets that ambition in motion by placing conversation, performance and music alongside one another, and by linking scenes that rarely share the same room.
The weekend takes place in Salle 37 at Palais de Tokyo, with a single ticket covering both days of programming. It forms part of the centre's new season, which opened on 21 October, and reflects its long-standing role as a space for experimentation, debate and artistic exchange in Paris. The opening weekend also signals how the centre intends to use its rooms as a meeting point for practitioners from different regions, with further chapters expected as the resource centre grows.
