Nagoya Reassembles the 'Phantom Collection' of the Bostonian Behind MFA's Japanese Holdings
The Aichi Prefectural Museum of Art opens a centenary exhibition on October 30 for William Bigelow (1850–1926), the Boston collector whose 40,000-piece trove founded the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston's Japanese art collection.
