Art Mail: The Exhibition, presented by Winsor & Newton at the Saatchi Gallery, brings together more than 7,000 watercolour postcards from artists in over 40 countries. On view in Gallery 4 from 1 to 11 October 2026 with free entry and no booking required, the show turns the simple act of painting and sending a postcard into a collective snapshot of global creativity. The exhibition fills the gallery with walls of handmade postcards, inviting visitors to lean in close, hunt for favourites and linger over tiny details. A private view brought together the artists, creators and friends behind the project, turning the opening into a celebration of the simple act of making and sharing art. For artists who took part around the world, the exhibition offers a rare chance to see their small works hanging in one of London's most-visited galleries. Following the exhibition, a selection of the postcards will be auctioned to raise funds for Hospital Rooms, the charity that commissions artists to transform mental-health wards across the UK through artist-designed therapeutic environments. The auction gives the participatory project a charitable afterlife, converting thousands of small acts of creativity into funding for art in clinical settings. Art Mail sits alongside the gallery's wider autumn programme — ArtEvol 2026 in Gallery 3 and the forthcoming BEYOND THE STREETS blockbuster — and underscores the Saatchi's appetite for large-scale participatory shows that draw broad public audiences. Its free-entry format keeps the project accessible to the casual visitor as well as the committed collector.
