White Cube will open a solo exhibition by Tracey Emin at its Paris gallery on 20 October 2026, timed to coincide with this year's edition of Art Basel Paris. The show, which runs until 18 December, brings together intimately scaled bronze sculptures and a group of new paintings made over the past two years. The exhibition extends the line of inquiry Emin pursued in her 2024 Bermondsey show, turning on desire, forbidden love and the emotional weight those forces carry. Autobiographical material threads through the works: figures caught in states of becoming, interiors from her home in Margate, her beloved cats, and the experience of life-threatening illness that has shaped her recent life and art. The Paris presentation follows a high-profile museum chapter. Her critically acclaimed Tate Modern survey, which closed at the end of August, now travels to the Louisiana Museum in Denmark, where it opens on 8 October. White Cube is positioning the gallery show as the next movement in that momentum, with the bronzes offering a quieter, more condensed counterpoint to the museum-scale retrospectives. Emin's relationship with White Cube dates to the gallery's earliest days, when it gave the artist her first one-person show in the 1990s. The gallery has represented her across the YBA era and beyond. The Paris space, at 10 avenue Matignon, opened relatively recently in the gallery's expansion, and landing a new Emin solo during the city's busiest art week signals how central the French capital has become to White Cube's programme. Advance interest is expected to be strong: Emin's gallery shows routinely draw long queues, and the timing with the city's busiest art week should make this one of the season's most visited commercial presentations in Paris.
