Sullivan+Strumpf, founded in 2005 and now operating across Sydney, Melbourne and Singapore, has announced the representation of South Sudanese Australian artist Atong Atem, adding a major new voice to its programme. Co-directors Ursula Sullivan and Joanna Strumpf, who have steered the gallery together for over twenty years, continue an unusually full exhibition schedule across the three cities: Lara Merrett opens in Sydney, Gregory Hodge in Melbourne and Irfan Hendrian in Singapore. On the fair circuit, the gallery appeared at Sydney Contemporary in early September for its tenth consecutive year and heads to Frieze London in October. The directors describe their model as collector-led rather than investment-led, positioning the gallery as one of the Asia-Pacific's leading contemporary galleries representing more than forty artists and estates.
