SBI Art Auction will hold its 84th sale of modern and contemporary art on October 24 and 25, 2026 at Hillside Forum in Tokyo, the Tokyo-based house announced in a press release on October 2. Nearly 30 works by Yayoi Kusama will be offered alongside works by Andy Warhol, Jeff Koons and other names. The autumn sale also features special collaborations with Bentley Tokyo and Noto's "SOUSHIN" project, tying the auction to luxury automotive culture and the craft traditions of the Noto region. Further details of the collaboration lots are expected as the sale catalogue is released. The announcement follows the house's 83rd sale, a livestream auction held on September 11 and 12, 2026, and continues SBI's fast cadence of bi-monthly sales. Earlier this year, the March 14 sale "Modern Legacy: An Important Japanese Collection of 20th & 21st Century Masters / Bloom Now" sold 96 percent of its 153 lots for ¥2.19 billion, underlining the firm's strength in the domestic market. The house, a subsidiary of SBI Holdings, positions its auctions as accessible entry points to acquiring art as well as forums for established collectors, with buyer's premium included in the published results. Consignments are already being accepted for the following sale, scheduled for January 22–23, 2027, with a deadline of mid-November 2026. SBI Art Auction is one of Japan's most active auctioneers for modern and contemporary art, and its October two-day sale arrives as the domestic market gears up for the year's final quarter — with Kusama, the country's most bankable living artist, again expected to set the tone.
