Pilar Corrias is presenting Oyster, a new solo exhibition by Norwegian artist Ragna Bley, at its Conduit Street space in London. The show, Bley's third with the gallery, runs from 13 November 2026 to 23 January 2027, with an opening reception on Thursday 12 November from 6 to 8pm.

The exhibition brings together a new series of sculptures and large-scale paintings that play with borders and categorisations — where a painting stops, where one environment gives way to another, and how viewers perceive what belongs where. In Bley's paintings, borders are both fixed and porous: colour seeps into the canvas and spreads, moving from one area into the next, pooling, thinning out and taking hold elsewhere, so that no edge in the image stays quite where it was put.

Alongside the paintings, sculptural pillars punctuate the gallery space, echoing the structure of the building around them and giving the room a rhythm of its own. A series of smaller ceramics — tactile objects that fit into a palm, mirroring the uncertain figurations that often appear in Bley's work — cling to the sculptures and scatter across the gallery floor, so that the boundary between painting, sculpture and the room itself keeps shifting as visitors move through the show.

Bley's work was recently on view at Kistefos in Norway in When I'm in My Painting, which ran from 9 May to 11 October 2026. Oyster continues her investigation of how painting can hold movement, leakage and change within a single image.
