Paul Newman Daytona and Moser "Miami" lead October's watch auction calendar
Three dedicated watch auctions close in October 2026: Sotheby's Paris Fine Watches offers a Paul Newman Daytona Ref 6241, Bonhams' online New York sale ends October 8 led by an H. Moser Pioneer Tourbillon "Miami", and Antiquorum New York presents nine F.P. Journes with a Tiffany-signed Nautilus.

The autumn watch-auction season gathers pace with three sales closing in October 2026: Sotheby's Paris Fine Watches, Bonhams New York Watches, and Antiquorum New York, each anchored by headline consignments aimed at serious collectors. At Sotheby's Paris, the centrepiece is a Rolex Cosmograph Daytona Ref 6241 with the legendary "Paul Newman" exotic dial — the model made famous by the actor and racing driver, and among the most coveted references in vintage watch collecting. Bonhams' online-only New York Watches sale, ending October 8 with 138 lots open for bidding, is led by a H. Moser & Cie Pioneer Tourbillon "Miami". The catalogue spans Audemars Piguet, Breguet, Cartier, Chopard, Omega, Patek Philippe, Piaget, Rolex, Van Cleef & Arpels and Vacheron Constantin, and all lots were available for public preview at the house's New York saleroom on West 57th Street. Antiquorum New York rounds out the month with nine examples by independent watchmaker F.P. Journe — a brand that has seen relentless demand at auction in recent years — alongside a Tiffany-signed Patek Philippe Nautilus, a pairing of two of the most sought-after names in modern collecting. The concentration of headline lots in a single month underscores how the top end of the watch market has held its nerve. It follows a week in which Phillips and Rolex raised a record $49.5 million in a charity sale of four one-of-a-kind Daytonas in London, confirming that trophy timepieces continue to command extraordinary attention. With previews opening in Paris, New York and online, October remains the year's busiest window for serious horology collectors.
