A new monthly roundup of opportunities for artists and designers brings together open calls, grants, fellowships and residencies with deadlines falling in November and beyond.

Leading the list is the Hopper Prize, which is accepting entries for grants drawn from a total pool of $13,000. Two artists will each receive $4,500 and four more will receive $1,000 each. The international open call is open to all visual media, and entries close at 11:59 p.m. Pacific time on 17 November. Shortlisted artists also gain exposure through an online journal and a social media audience of more than 175,000.

Olbrich Botanical Gardens is inviting proposals for GLEAM, its 2027 exhibition of temporary, large-scale, light-based artwork set across a 16-acre landscape and a 10,000-square-foot tropical conservatory. The call looks for works that create delight through illuminated motion and playful interaction, with special consideration for pieces incorporating a kinetic element. Proposals are due by 11:59 p.m. Central time on 6 January 2027.

The 2027 ArtFields Festival in Lake City, South Carolina, is also seeking submissions. Selected works will be shown from 9 April to 1 May 2027 at one of the largest art events in the south-eastern United States, with more than $100,000 in cash prizes on offer. Applications close on 1 November and carry a $25 fee.

Monthly roundups of this kind have become a practical resource for working artists, gathering scattered deadlines into a single list. For emerging artists in particular, the grants and open calls offer a route to funding, exhibition space and new audiences without the need for gallery representation.
