Mendes Wood DM Stages a Kyoto–São Paulo Exchange at Art Collaboration Kyoto
Mendes Wood DM brings nine artists — from Tomie Ohtake and Patricia Ayres to Sanam Khatibi and Leah Ke Yi Zheng — to Art Collaboration Kyoto, 6–9 November 2026, at booth KM05 in the Kyoto International Conference Center.

Mendes Wood DM will present a group exhibition exploring the connections between Kyoto and São Paulo at Art Collaboration Kyoto, running 6–9 November 2026 at booth KM05 in the Kyoto International Conference Center.
The presentation brings together nine artists whose practices span the twentieth century to the present — Patricia Ayres, Sanam Khatibi, Amadeo Luciano Lorenzato, Daniel Steegmann Mangrané, Tomie Ohtake, Solange Pessoa, Giangiacomo Rossetti, Marina Perez Simão and Leah Ke Yi Zheng — with works exploring transculturation, the diaspora, spirituality and the relationship between culture and nature.
Zheng also appears in Out of Bounds, a group exhibition curated by Leonhard Bartolomeus that runs alongside the fair at ICC Kyoto through 9 November. She presents I-Ching 64 (2024–2025), part of a sustained series of paintings on silk through which she has worked with the I Ching since 2021; the exhibition occupies the fair's Event Hall, New Hall and surrounding areas and tests the social and digital limits placed on human connection.
Art Collaboration Kyoto's sixth edition opens with a preview day on 6 November, with public days 7–9 November 2026 at the Kyoto International Conference Center.
