Logan Paul has bought the original pencil sketch behind the MrBeast logo for $7,320 at Heritage Auctions. The drawing, offered as lot 81966 in the house's Fall Sports Catalog Auction held from 23 to 25 October, is the earliest concept for the beast-head mark now recognised by millions of online viewers. Paul announced the purchase himself after the sale, describing it as a potential standout among his acquisitions and praising the work ethic of his friend Jimmy Donaldson, the creator behind MrBeast.

The sketch dates from around 2018, when Donaldson was moving from borrowed imagery to an identity of his own. According to Heritage, he had previously used a generic picture found online and was advised to commission something distinctive. In a brainstorming session with a design team, he asked for a feline feel for the mark. The artist's first attempt, produced in roughly ten minutes, won his approval on the spot, and that quick drawing became the starting point for one of the most familiar logos in online video.

Physically, the lot is modest. The pencil work sits on an 8.5-by-11-inch sheet, with the drawing itself covering roughly four inches square, and Heritage notes stains, wrinkles and small tears. The house had placed a guide value of $20,000 and up on the piece before bidding, so the final price came in well below that guide. The gap between the guide and the result says something about how hard this corner of the market is to price: the object is historically interesting, but it is a working sketch rather than a finished artwork.

Even so, the sale captures a new kind of collecting. Memorabilia from the creator economy, from early logos to first-edition merchandise, is starting to appear in mainstream auction catalogues alongside sports cards and entertainment props. For buyers, the appeal lies less in draughtsmanship than in origin: this sheet is where a global brand began. Paul's purchase turns that origin story into a trophy, and it will be watched as an early marker of what internet-era artefacts can fetch once they reach the saleroom.
