Chicago-based painter Leah Ke Yi Zheng is now represented by Antenna Space, the gallery with spaces in Shanghai and Hong Kong, in a collaboration with Mendes Wood DM. The news was carried in Newcity's culture round-up on 30 October, which noted the appointment alongside the announcement of her first solo exhibition in China.

That show opens at Antenna Space on 9 November. It follows a presentation of Zheng's work at the Renaissance Society in Chicago earlier this year, and it will be her debut solo outing in China. She is also represented by Mendes Wood DM, and her work has been supported by Galerie Emanuel Layr in Vienna, which has shown her paintings before.

The appointment adds a young painter to Antenna Space's roster at a moment when the gallery, which operates across Shanghai and Hong Kong, continues to build its programme of international artists. For Zheng, the November exhibition is the most visible step yet in a career that has moved from Chicago's non-profit spaces onto the international gallery circuit, and the show gives the gallery a new solo presentation to carry into the winter season.

Antenna Space has not yet announced the full details of the November show, but its opening on 9 November places Zheng's first solo exhibition in China at the centre of the gallery's autumn programme. The move also underlines the growing attention being paid to a painter whose work has already been seen in Chicago this year, and who now has two galleries working on her behalf across three cities.
