Four independent business owners have been immortalised in oil portraits by artists who have previously painted members of the Royal Family, in a free exhibition at Saatchi Gallery in London. Local Royalty, presented by Coca-Cola Great Britain, is on view in Gallery 3 on the ground floor from 28 October to 1 November 2026.

The sitters are Pindy Kaur of Ocean Fish Bar in Barnsley, painted by Nicky Philipps, who painted the late Queen Elizabeth II twice; Simon Dafforn-Jones, landlord of The Ferry Boat Inn in Dittisham, Devon, painted by Jamie Coreth, who painted the first official portrait of the Prince and Princess of Wales; Gino Verecchia of University Cafe in Glasgow, painted by Gareth Reid, who painted King Charles III when he was Prince of Wales; and Kaual Patel of Torridon Convenience Store in Catford, painted by Nick Bashall, portrait painter to Princess Anne.

The portraits give Britain's high streets the kind of recognition historically reserved for royalty, celebrating the owners of a cafe, a pub, a takeaway and a corner shop. Each owner will keep their portrait to display at home or at their business, and will receive a donation to a local charity of their choice.

Local Royalty is the latest instalment of Coca-Cola GB's Localness platform, which celebrates the people and families behind the hospitality and retail businesses where its drinks are served. The campaign was developed by MHP Group, and research commissioned for it found that 87 per cent of people consider independent businesses an essential part of life in Great Britain.
