The first 58 arts organisations in Wales to receive funding from the Arts Capital Investment Fund were announced on Thursday 17 September. The awards followed 81 applications from across the country, and recipients span Wales' arts ecology. The Arts Capital Investment Fund reopened for further applications on 17 September with an additional £2m, bringing the total available this year to £10m. Welsh National Opera received the largest single award of £510,000, while the Riverfront Theatre in Newport secured around £400,000. The programme forms part of the Arts Council of Wales' capital funding commitment to venues and organisations.
