Artissima, the Turin fair devoted exclusively to contemporary art, has named Ruth Beraha, Gamze Palabiyik and Fabrizio Prevedello as the recipients of its three acquisition awards for 2026. Each award involves the purchase of a work by the artist, which then enters the collection of the institution or company behind the prize.

Beraha takes the Tosetti Value prize for photography, presented by the gallery Ncontemporary; Palabiyik wins the Matteo Viglietta Award, organised by Collezione La Gaia and presented by VON&VON; and Prevedello receives the Ettore and Ines Fico Prize, run with the Museo Ettore Fico in Turin and presented by z2o Sara Zanin and Cardelli & Fontana. They sit within a wider programme of twelve prizes, one fund and a special mention at this year's fair, all decided by international juries of curators and museum directors. Nine awards in total were presented during the fair, recognising research, artistic practice and new production.

The prizes underline the fair's close ties to Turin's public museums. Alongside the awards, Fondazione Arte CRT renewed its acquisitions fund at Artissima, worth 300,000 euros, for the collections of GAM, the city's civic gallery of modern and contemporary art, and the Castello di Rivoli Museo d'Arte Contemporanea. Over the years the foundation has built a collection of almost 1,000 works by around 380 artists through purchases at the fair, representing investment of more than 43 million euros.

The 33rd edition of Artissima, directed by Luigi Fassi for a fifth year, ran from 30 October to 1 November at the Oval Lingotto, bringing together 183 galleries from 35 countries, including 66 monographic presentations and 37 first-time exhibitors. Its theme this year was Fancy: A Flexible, Acrobatic Body, and its seven sections ranged from the main gallery sector to curated presentations of emerging artists, historical rediscoveries and drawings.
