Rockstar Games Funds Free Wynwood Walls Entry Through 2028
Wynwood Walls Museum has partnered with Rockstar Games to give all Miami-Dade residents free admission through 2028, unveiling 10 new murals featuring original Grand Theft Auto VI artwork that will remain on view through January 1.

Miami's famous outdoor museum is now free for locals — courtesy of the video game industry. The Wynwood Walls Museum announced a multi-year partnership with Rockstar Games that grants free admission to all Miami-Dade County residents through 2028, with the program taking effect this week. The collaboration was unveiled alongside 10 new murals featuring original in-game artwork commissioned specifically for Grand Theft Auto VI. The pieces, produced by Goldman Global Arts and created by urban contemporary artists including Tristan Eaton, DENIAL, FAILE, Lady AIKO, Ron English, Queen Andrea, ATOMIK, Tatiana Suarez, Askew One and the duo Gons and Audet, will remain on view through January 1. Eaton's mural sits on the museum's campus; the others are scattered through the surrounding Wynwood neighborhood. A Detroit creative agency, 1XRUN, curated additional street and tattoo artists whose work appears in the game. The partnership is timed to the forthcoming release of Grand Theft Auto VI, whose fictional Vice City includes a district called Stockyard — a stand-in for Wynwood itself, complete with murals echoing the real neighborhood. The museum has also launched an exclusive "Art of Vice City" capsule collection inspired by the game's artwork, with pieces by 15 participating artists available for preorder at the museum shop. Jessica Goldman Srebnick, the museum's CEO and curator, said the community had remained the Walls' anchor even as they grew from a local treasure to a global destination, and that Rockstar's creativity and love of Miami made it an ideal partner. For a cultural landmark that charges admission to its campus of more than 35 murals and 10 sculptures, the deal removes the price barrier for the people who live around it — and turns a game launch into one of the biggest public-art moments of the season.
