Wang Meiling's solo exhibition 'Keyword – Continuation' opened at Eslite Gallery in Taipei on 17 October and runs through 12 December 2026. The show introduces the largest canvases the artist has attempted, including the 'Unyielding' series, 'Dreamer' and 'Come True', alongside the flower paintings through which she has long examined the stages of a woman's life.

In coverage published on 20 October, ARTouch traces how the painter's "flower series" moved from meditations on feminine youth toward reflections on her parents' ageing and the gathering and scattering of human relationships. That thinking has condensed into a new conceptual framework she calls "together a fire, apart a sky of stars": works that can converse with each other when hung side by side, yet stand alone as independent pieces.

For Wang, "continuation" does not mean repetition. The written words that once described her own interior state have gradually turned outward, recording her observation of the world and generating new layers of reference. What remains constant, she suggests, is a practice of measuring time with a brush: in a simple, repeated rhythm of painting, the moments that once moved her are kept alive between colour and gesture.

The exhibition, on view at Eslite Gallery's Songshan venue in Taipei's Xinyi district, marks the first time Wang has tested herself at monumental scale, meeting the challenge with what ARTouch describes as an unyielding attitude of self-encouragement and a continued willingness to break through her own boundaries. The show's new framework, "together a fire, apart a sky of stars", also extends to its display logic:聚合与分散 (gathering and dispersing) become both a way of arranging works and a way of thinking about time, relationship and perception. On view at Eslite Gallery's Songshan venue in Taipei's Xinyi district, the exhibition makes the large-format works the clearest signal of Wang's ambition at this stage of her career.
