Victoria Miro in London is presenting TIME TO SHINE! (the salesmen), an exhibition of new paintings by Hernan Bas, from 17 September to 14 November 2026 at 16 Wharf Road. The works are set in places of retail — shops, market stalls, the seaside — where minor characters assume leading dramatic roles under a theatrical spotlight: the perfume counter attendant, the seashell seller, the wilting-flowered farmers' market trader. Mixing comedy, nostalgia and quiet melancholy, Bas elevates figures the art world usually walks past, in a show staged simultaneously with a companion presentation at Perrotin in Tokyo.
