K21 in Düsseldorf gives Thomas Schütte a whole-museum solo exhibition, 14 November 2026 to 11 April 2027, with the major sculptures Vater Staat and Mutter Erde, new pieces and the first complete survey of his architectural models.
Kunstsammlung Nordrhein-Westfalen will present a comprehensive solo exhibition of Thomas Schütte's work at K21 in Düsseldorf, running 14 November 2026 to 11 April 2027, produced in close collaboration with the artist.
Alongside major sculptures including Vater Staat (Father State) and Mutter Erde (Mother Earth), the show features a selection of new pieces as well as the first complete survey of Schütte's architectural models. It follows a series of highly acclaimed solo exhibitions, including at the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
The exhibition is a whole-museum takeover of K21, with Schütte occupying the ground-floor piazza and the basement exhibition space. The press preview is on 12 November, with an opening evening on 13 November.
