Thaddaeus Ropac is showing a 22-artist presentation at Booth D22 at Frieze London this week, spanning the gallery's full roster from Georg Baselitz and Robert Rauschenberg to some of the most closely watched painters working today. The fair runs 14–18 October at Regent's Park, with the invitation-only preview under way today (11am–7pm) and public access from the afternoon of Thursday 15 October. The booth pairs late-modern heavyweights — Baselitz, Alex Katz, Robert Longo, Robert Mapplethorpe, Tony Cragg, Antony Gormley, David Salle, Adrian Ghenie, Martha Jungwirth, Hans Josephsohn and Yan Pei-Ming — with a younger cohort the gallery has been building around: Jordan Casteel, Mandy El-Sayegh, Sylvie Fleury, Megan Rooney, Joan Snyder, Oliver Beer, Liza Lou, Zadie Xa and Erwin Wurm. Newly signed Denzil Forrester, whose move to the gallery was announced earlier this month, is on the list, making the booth his first Frieze outing with Ropac. The fair presentation is timed to coincide with the gallery's big autumn statement in London: Georg Baselitz: The Heroes 1965–66, the first UK exhibition devoted to the artist's early Hero paintings, which opened at Ropac's Ely House space on Tuesday 13 October, the evening before the fair preview. Beyond the fair, the gallery flags a cluster of London openings timed for the same week: Sturtevant's Eat the Outside to Light Up the Inside at Raven Row (15 October–20 December) and Vera Molnár's Degrees of Disruption at V&A South Kensington (opening 16 October), alongside the ongoing ARTIST ROOMS: Robert Rauschenberg display at Tate Modern.
