MoMA PS1 has opened the first large-scale US museum presentation of work by Teresa Margolles, running from September 24, 2026. The centerpiece is La promesa, an installation incorporating roughly 22 tons of rubble that asks visitors to confront violence, migration, displacement and memory. The exhibition pairs with a related Margolles presentation at MoMA in Manhattan. Margolles, long known for work addressing femicide and social crisis in Mexico, here scales her practice to institutional dimensions. The show is expected to be one of the season's most challenging major museum exhibitions.
