Tama Art University brings Pokémon upcycle sculptures to Tokyo Midtown Yaesu
Students of Tama Art University present 53 Pokémon sculptures made from scrap materials and waste at Tokyo Midtown Yaesu from 18 to 27 September 2026, combining art education with environmental awareness.
Tama Art University's TUB Product Design Laboratory is presenting the Pokémon Art & Environmental Education Exhibition at Tokyo Midtown Yaesu from 18 to 27 September 2026. The free exhibition features fifty-three Pokémon figures crafted from unwanted items and scrap materials by students, inviting visitors to reflect on waste and the environment through playfully reworked pop-culture icons. The project is organised by Tama Art University with the Yaesu area management association and supported by the Pokémon With You Foundation. The student works demonstrate how discarded household materials can be transformed into high-craft sculpture, extending the university's ongoing upcycle sculpture series. The venue, on the first floor atrium of Tokyo Midtown Yaesu in Chuo-ku, is open daily from 11:00 to 18:30.
