The Stadel Museum and the Liebieghaus Skulpturensammlung in Frankfurt have opened Mary Magdalene. Sin. Pray. Love., described as the first comprehensive exhibition in the German-speaking world devoted to the figure of Mary Magdalene. On view from 17 September 2026 to 17 January 2027, the show assembles more than 100 paintings, sculptures and prints spanning the Middle Ages to the present day, examining shifting images of sin, repentance, devotion and emancipation - including strong representation of women artists such as Luisa Roldan and Lotte Laserstein.
