The Philadelphia Museum of Art will open El Anatsui: Prints and Play on December 19, 2026, gathering more than 90 works by the Ghanaian artist from the 1980s to the present. The exhibition looks beyond Anatsui's celebrated bottle-cap sculptures to his experiments in printmaking, including works made with cassava graters, market trays and printing plates. A related presentation at Brandywine Workshop and Archives will examine his materials and techniques. The show runs through May 2, 2027. It also notes Anatsui's Philadelphia ties, including a large sculpture for the museum's Williams Forum unveiled in 2024.
