Paris Internationale Talks Turn the Spotlight on Other Artists' Legacies
A four-day talks series at Paris Internationale, organised by Fondation Pernod Ricard and curated by Alice Dusapin, has four speakers each discuss an artist who shaped their own work, from PaJaMa and Nicolas Moufarrege to Rosemary Mayer and Ana Jotta.
During Paris Internationale 2026, the Fondation Pernod Ricard is presenting a talks programme that hands the microphone to people who would rather discuss someone else. Titled Let's Talk About Someone Else, the series runs from October 21 to 24 at the fair's venue on Quai de Valmy, and is curated by Alice Dusapin for the third year running.
Each of the four guests has chosen an artist whose practice they have collaborated with, extended, reactivated or rediscovered, and each session pairs that guest with an object of desire, research or transmission. The premise, in Dusapin's framing, is that choosing who to research, taking up a body of work, unearthing an archive or passing on an oeuvre is also a way of telling one's own story, revealing the affection that sustains one practice through another's.
The programme opened on Wednesday, October 21, with Baptiste Pinteaux speaking in French about PaJaMa, the collaborative duo of Paulina Peavy, Jacqueline and Moira. On Thursday, October 22, Nick Mauss discussed Nicolas Moufarrege in English, followed on Friday, October 23, by Marie Warsh on Rosemary Mayer. The series closes on Saturday, October 24, with Joao dos Santos Martins speaking about Ana Jotta.
Where earlier editions of the cycle focused on curators, publishers and researchers and the independent structures they founded, this year's edition shifts attention to artists themselves. By centring the figures who put the speakers to work, the programme offers a portrait of influence as a living exchange: admiration, labour and lineage, passed from one practitioner to another in public conversation.
