Japan's autumn contemporary art season is taking shape as Tokyo Gendai and Art Collaboration Kyoto announced their 2026 exhibitor lists. Tokyo Gendai returns to Pacifico Yokohama from 11–13 September (VIP preview 10 September), now in its fourth edition as an entry point into Japan's contemporary art scene for international collectors. New this year is Miki ('Trunk'), a section dedicated to works on paper, photography and printmaking. Later in the autumn, ACK returns to Kyoto from 7–9 November with its signature collaboration model pairing Japanese and international galleries; Hauser & Wirth will debut in partnership with Taro Nasu, while London's Carlos/Ishikawa joins Taka Ishii Gallery for its first participation.
