Van Eyck: The Portraits brings together all nine of the artist's known painted portraits from across Europe — half of Jan van Eyck's surviving works worldwide. The precious, fragile panels rarely travel, making this reportedly the first and only time they can be assembled together. Several portraits are displayed in the round, with backs and original frames visible, revealing painted faux-marble and metal backs that most visitors have never seen. The exhibition is ticketed, with the first monograph ever published on Van Eyck's portraits accompanying the show.
