The exhibition surveys two decades of Sheikh's practice, anchored by her celebrated series Each Night Put Kashmir in Your Dreams (2003-14), a sequence of large double-sided painted scrolls reflecting on the Kashmir Valley. It also debuts a new site-responsive set of paintings commissioned by KNMA and made in her signature casein tempera on unstretched canvas. Drawing together painting, literature, history and vernacular traditions, Sheikh's work explores memory, displacement and the experiences of women amid political upheaval. The show runs through 13 June 2027.
