Antwerp's municipal museums enjoyed one of their strongest summers on record, welcoming nearly 550,000 visitors across the season. The Middelheim open-air sculpture museum accounted for 136,000 of those visits, buoyed by Monster Chetwynd's large-scale installation 'A Friends Making Machine'. The Chetwynd exhibition remains on view at Middelheim until 11 October 2026. The figures underline the continued draw of outdoor and large-format summer programming.
