Met announces major dual survey of Krasner and Pollock
The Met announced Krasner and Pollock: Past Continuous, opening 4 October, the first major New York presentation of either artist in over two decades, with 120 works from 80 lenders.
The exhibition traces the intertwined careers of Lee Krasner and Jackson Pollock in parallel, examining their distinct practices as artistic peers and life partners from their 1942 meeting through Pollock's death in 1956 and Krasner's subsequent three transformative decades. It foregrounds the range of Krasner's work while reassessing Pollock's practice, drawing on the Met's collection and loans from institutions including the Peggy Guggenheim Collection, MoMA, the Whitney, Tate and the Centre Pompidou. The show will also introduce several rarely seen works from private collections. It runs from 4 October 2026 to 31 January 2027.
