New People's Cinema Club and Unsound New York will present Matthew Barney and Jonathan Bepler's River of Fundament at the Masonic Hall of New York on Saturday 14 November 2026, from 2pm to 10pm. The eight-hour film unfolds in three acts, with a live music intervention by Bepler and musicians from the film's cast, and intermissions between acts.

The screening marks only the second presentation of River of Fundament in New York, following its world premiere at BAM in 2014. Produced by Barney and the Laurenz Foundation, the film is loosely based on Norman Mailer's novel Ancient Evenings.

The programme continues the following day, Sunday 15 November at 2pm, with a conversation between Barney and Bepler at Public Records in Brooklyn, moderated by Andy Battaglia as part of Unsound New York's discourse series with Durations Festival. The talk is free for River of Fundament ticket holders on a first-come, first-served basis.
