Louis Vuitton has unveiled the eighth chapter of its Artycapucines collection, devoting 13 new bag designs to the work of Keith Haring. Developed in collaboration with the Keith Haring Foundation, the edition translates the late artist's visual vocabulary — the "Running Heart," the "Radiant Baby," dancing figures, and exuberant graphic compositions — onto the house's Capucines bag, using techniques that range from traditional leather marquetry to cutting-edge laser printing. Highlights of the 13-piece collection include the Capucines Nano Running Heart, a silver-tone metal minaudière set with more than 12,000 hand-placed rhinestones; the Capucines MM Genesis, inspired by a Louis Vuitton suitcase that Haring customized by hand in 1984; the Capucines East-West Mini Maze, brought to life through intricate bead embroidery; and the Capucines BB Figures, which sets Haring's dancing figures against pristine white Taurillon leather, his characteristic black outline integrated into the bag's architecture. The project continues an existing relationship between the Foundation and the French fashion house: earlier this year Louis Vuitton presented clothing printed with Haring's designs at its womenswear show at New York's Frick Collection. Haring (1958–1990) became a defining voice of New York's 1980s downtown scene, moving fluidly between street art, gallery walls, and popular culture; his bold outlines and rhythmic figures remain among the most recognizable in postwar American art, appearing on everything from UNIQLO T-shirts to stadium murals. The Artycapucines line, launched in 2019, now comprises more than 50 designs by artists including Takashi Murakami, Tschabalala Self, Urs Fischer, and Park Seo-Bo. All 13 pieces from the Haring edition will be released as limited editions in Louis Vuitton stores worldwide from January 1, 2027.
