Some of London's most prominent cultural institutions are joining forces with the Indian organisation Serendipity Arts to stage a major celebration of South Asian creativity. Serendipity Arts Festival London will take over Exhibition Road and South Kensington's cultural quarter from 19 to 27 June 2027, in partnership with the Great Exhibition Road Festival led by Imperial College.

The partner list includes the Victoria and Albert Museum, the Science Museum and the Natural History Museum, alongside the Royal Albert Hall, the Royal Geographical Society, the Royal College of Art and the Royal College of Music. The programme spans visual art, music, dance, new media and food, featuring established and emerging artists from India and its diaspora, with events in galleries, concert halls, cafes and outdoor spaces.

Six women curators have been appointed: Veeranganakumari Solanki and Nancy Adajania for new media, Latika Gupta for visual arts, Preethi Athreya for dance, Sneha Khanwalkar for music and Elizabeth Yorke for culinary arts. V&A South Kensington senior curator Kristian Volsing called the partnership an incredibly timely collaboration, ahead of the museum's South Asia Now: Fashion. Art. Design. exhibition at V&A East in spring 2027 and the reopening of its South Asia Gallery in 2028.

The London festival builds on Serendipity Arts' annual event in Goa, India, which marked its tenth anniversary in 2025 and has drawn more than a million visitors while supporting over 10,000 artists since 2016. The Royal Geographical Society will develop an exhibition drawing on its collections relating to the Indian subcontinent, and London's Natural History Museum will present its Wildlife Photographer of the Year show at the Goa festival this December. Further programme details will be announced in the coming months.
