The collection acquired St John on Patmos at Sotheby’s, adding another work by the artist to its holdings.
Thomas Kaplan’s Leiden Collection bought the painting St John on Patmos at Sotheby’s for $9m, according to The Art Newspaper. The work becomes the collection’s eighteenth Rembrandt. The source identifies the buyer after the sale had drawn attention for its mystery.
