Leiden Collection Buys 18th Rembrandt, a Portrait of the Artist's Son Titus
The Leiden Collection has acquired its 18th Rembrandt painting, Saint John on Patmos (c. 1661), which depicts the artist's son Titus as the exiled evangelist. The work had sold at Sotheby's London in 2025.
The Leiden Collection has announced the acquisition of Saint John on Patmos (ca. 1661), an 18th painting by Rembrandt for the private collection devoted to the artist and his circle. The work shows Rembrandt's son Titus in the role of the exiled evangelist, painted in the last years of the artist's life. It was most recently sold at Sotheby's London in 2025.
