LACMA opened two exhibitions on September 27, 2026, examining the designed interior. Home of the Future, 1925–1985 looks at a century of speculative domestic architecture, while The Kitchen and Its Discontents considers the politics of the modern kitchen. Together they survey how designers, artists and architects have reimagined everyday living. The pair forms part of the museum's fall program on Wilshire Boulevard. Both exhibitions draw on the museum's decorative arts and design holdings alongside loans.
