On September 29, 2026, Christie's Hong Kong will offer Yayoi Kusama's 'A-Pumpkin (YHP)' (2011) as lot 5 of the 20th/21st Century Evening Sale at The Henderson in Central, estimated at HK$48-68 million (about US$6.2-8.7 million). The 130.2 x 162 cm acrylic canvas - a yellow pumpkin dotted with black spots set against an Infinity Nets background - makes its auction debut, having been acquired by its present owner from Gagosian Hong Kong in 2012 and accompanied by the artist's studio registration card. The sale comes just weeks after Kusama's death in August 2026 at the age of 97, and will be closely watched as a test of the artist's market: her auction record remains 'Untitled (Nets)', sold for US$10.496 million at Phillips New York in May 2022. A pre-sale exhibition runs at Christie's Hong Kong from September 22 to 29.
