kurimanzutto names Corinna Durland to lead its New York gallery as senior director
kurimanzutto has appointed Corinna Durland as senior director of its New York gallery, the Mexico City–founded gallery announced this week. Durland, previously senior director at Schwartzman& and for more than a decade at Gavin Brown's enterprise, will lead the New York programme alongside the gallery's founders and partners.

Mexico City–founded gallery kurimanzutto has appointed Corinna Durland as senior director of its New York space, the gallery announced on Tuesday. Working from New York, Durland will lead the gallery in close collaboration with its founders and partners, charged with strengthening the programme's impact in the United States while extending its international reach.
The appointment arrives as kurimanzutto deepens its New York presence. The gallery opened a project space in the city in 2018 and established a permanent location on West 20th Street in 2022. In its announcement, the gallery framed the move against a moment of renewed cultural and political dialogue between Mexico and the United States, reaffirming a founding ethos that meaningful growth comes from long-term partnerships with artists and sustained cross-border exchange.
Durland brings more than two decades of experience working with artists, estates, collectors and institutions. She was most recently senior director at Schwartzman&, and before that served as vice president and director of advisory at Art Agency, Partners, where she advised artists and estates on long-term planning, guided collectors on acquisitions and strategy, and led major public art initiatives around the world. Earlier, she spent over a decade as senior director at Gavin Brown's enterprise in New York, building lasting relationships with artists and supporting influential voices of her generation. She has also worked as an independent artist manager and began her career at the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
In a statement, Durland said she was "thrilled to be joining kurimanzutto" at an important moment in the gallery's evolution and in the wider cultural landscape, praising its integrity, vision and artist-centred ethos. She said she looked forward to bringing her experience and relationships to the gallery's next chapter, which under her leadership is expected to advance ambitious projects, deepen institutional engagement and continue supporting New York's artistic community.
