KB Financial Group announced on 31 August 2026 that it will hold a special exhibition, "A Gathering of Stars," with artist Kim Taek-sang at Kiaf Seoul 2026, which runs 2–6 September at COEX in Seoul. The large-scale new work by Kim — who has spent more than three decades building up layers of acrylic poured with water on canvas — is installed in a darkened space with matched sound and scent so the piece reads as a single source of light. The group first sponsored Kiaf Seoul in 2024, following chairman Yang Jong-hee's appointment and his stated aim of giving customers closer access to arts and culture while supporting the domestic art market. KB says it has moved beyond exhibition sponsorship into broader arts and culture business, including discovering emerging artists — it sponsors the ZOOM-IN exhibition and KB Star Award at the Galleries Art Fair — and funding free admission for customers at more than 40 public museums and galleries through KB Star Banking, which drew about 34,000 participants in its first four months. KB also holds the annual KB GOLD&WISE Museum Day, inviting roughly 2,000 customers to the Leeum Museum of Art each May, and describes the Kiaf partnership as part of a long-term shift toward social contribution in culture rather than one-off sponsorship.
