Jessica Silverman, the San Francisco gallery at 621 Grant Avenue, has announced it will return to Art Basel Paris, describing itself as the only exhibitor from the San Francisco Bay Area at the fair. The announcement, posted on the gallery's news page on 12 October 2026, was illustrated with a detail of Judy Chicago's The Butterfly Begins Again, a 1973 work.

The return marks a continued presence on the European fair circuit for a gallery that has built its profile around artists including Judy Chicago, Woody De Othello, Isaac Julien, Sadie Barnette and Lava Thomas. This autumn the gallery has been active across the Bay Area and beyond, with Lava Thomas's Lineage show in San Francisco and a slate of artist talks and walkthroughs running into late October.

Art Basel Paris stages its fifth edition at the Grand Palais from 23 to 25 October 2026, drawing 211 galleries. The Paris fair has become a key fixture of the autumn calendar, running alongside a citywide programme and a wave of museum openings timed to fair week. The gallery knows the fair circuit well: at Art Basel's June edition in Basel it mounted Significant Others, a curated booth presentation bringing together Judy Chicago, Loie Hollowell, Atsushi Kaga, Woody De Othello, GaHee Park and Rose B. Simpson, and this month alone its artists have drawn features from Artsy, the San Francisco Chronicle and the Herald, while the gallery added painters Oliver Osborne and Laeh Glenn to its roster in early October.

For a mid-size Bay Area gallery, a return appearance at one of the season's biggest European fairs is a statement of intent: Chicago, De Othello and the gallery's younger roster names have all been drawing sustained press attention through 2026, and the Paris booth gives the gallery a European stage at the peak of fair season.
