Heritage Auctions is leaning into the spooky season for its weekly comic sales, according to a highlights roundup published on 20 October by Overstreet Access. The Comic Books Select auction closes across 25 to 27 October, with the Comic Art and Illustration auction ending on 28 October.

The headline comics lots include a CGC 8.5-graded copy of Horrific #13 with a Don Heck vampire cover, and a complete bound run of MAD magazine issues 1 through 23 from 1952 to 1955. Marvel highlights feature Marvel Super-Heroes #20 in CGC 9.2, notable as Doctor Doom's first solo story and the first appearance of Valeria, plus Marvel Comics Presents #72 in CGC 9.8, which retells Wolverine's origin with art by Barry Windsor-Smith.

The original art side is led by Avengers pages: a story page from Avengers #229 by Al Milgrom and Joe Sinnott, and a team-packed page from Avengers #152 by John Buscema and Joe Sinnott. Halloween flavor comes from Bernie Wrightson's Emerging Zombie illustration, while a signed and inscribed sketch of the Silver Age Flash by Carmine Infantino offers a lighter note.

Weekly auctions are a staple of Heritage's comics operation in Dallas, and this batch shows how the house uses seasonal theming to package mid-tier material, with the horror titles and classic Marvel keys doing the heavy lifting for bidder attention.

The weekly sales follow the house's larger signature comics and comic art auctions earlier in October, which were reported to have totaled more than $18 million. That event was led by high-grade Golden Age keys from the Merrimack Valley Collection, underscoring how Heritage pairs marquee signature sales with these smaller weekly outings to keep different price tiers of the comics market moving.
