The Vietnamese artist Tran Luu Hau has a new auction benchmark. His acrylic-on-canvas Park (2005), appearing at auction for the first time, sold for $359,000 (HKD2.82m) at Sotheby's in Hong Kong on 29 September 2026, fetching more than four and a half times its low estimate. The result beats his previous record of $147,500, set by Ancient Street in Hanoi (1997) at Bonhams in March 2025, by $211,600 — a 125% increase. The work was the only lot by the artist in the sale.
