Hayy Jameel Pairs Saudi National Day Market with Two Exhibitions
Hayy Jameel in Jeddah hosted the Saudi National Day edition of The Bakers Market from September 24 to 26, a three-day collaboration with Aysh Academy combining Jeddah's bakeries with the exhibitions Global Positioning System and Red Wind, Coral Worlds.
Hayy Jameel in Jeddah presented the Saudi National Day edition of The Bakers Market from September 24 to 26, a three-day collaboration with Aysh Academy that turned the arts complex's Fenaa Hayy courtyard into a celebration of the city's bakery scene. The market brought together a curated selection of Jeddah's top bakeries and rising baking talents, with freshly baked items prepared daily, market-only specialties, seasonal favourites and product tastings in a community-centred atmosphere. The edition was programmed alongside two exhibitions at Hayy Arts: Global Positioning System on the ground floor and Red Wind, Coral Worlds on the first floor, giving visitors the chance to move between shopping, eating and exploring. Aysh Academy, the culinary education hub behind the market, works to elevate baking and pastry skills across Saudi Arabia through workshops, specialised programmes and community events. Each day carried its own programme. On Thursday September 24, the Jameel Library hosted Thinking Space: Do Cities Resemble Their Names? with Noor Hazim from 5 to 7pm, followed by a Hayy Sounds listening session with Atiyyah Khan and Huda in the Frequency Room. Friday September 25 offered a children's storytelling session in the Jameel Library, while Saturday September 26 featured a woodworking course at Hayy Makers. The Bakers Market has grown into a fixture of Jeddah's cultural calendar since its first editions, and the National Day edition marked its latest collaboration between Art Jameel and Aysh Academy. By pairing food with art, music and learning across the Hayy Jameel complex, the event underscored the institution's role as a gathering place where craft, creativity and community meet.
