Filmmaker and artist Harmony Korine will open his first exhibition with Hauser & Wirth in New York this month, presenting a new series of paintings at the gallery's 18th Street space. Titled 'UX LAM', the show runs from 12 November 2026 to 16 January 2027, with an opening reception on Thursday 12 November from 6 to 8pm.

The presentation marks Korine's debut with the gallery in New York, following his first US museum survey, 'Harmony Korine: Perfect Nonsense', at the Institute of Contemporary Art, Miami, earlier in 2026. The Miami survey, his first in a US museum, closes in November 2026. The new paintings grow out of what the gallery describes as a renewed engagement with drawing and digital processing, picturing a sleek, stylised world in a lambent pastel palette.

Korine, the director of 'Gummo' (1997) and 'Spring Breakers' (2012), has built a multidisciplinary practice across film, painting and photography over three decades. He joined Hauser & Wirth in 2023, moving from Gagosian, and the gallery has since presented his work in Los Angeles, where a 2023 exhibition of acid-hued paintings drew on his infrared-shot film 'Aggro Dr1ft'.

The New York show is the latest step in that partnership. Where the Los Angeles paintings were closely tied to the imagery of 'Aggro Dr1ft', the 'UX LAM' works are presented as a standalone body of new paintings, carrying the artist's genre-defying worldbuilding into fresh territory.

Hauser & Wirth's 18th Street gallery will host the exhibition through mid-January, giving New York audiences their first chance to see Korine's newest paintings in the city.
