Gurr Johns launches $100m art lending fund with first close completed
Gurr Johns Capital, the finance affiliate of art advisory Gurr Johns, has held a first close of its new art lending fund, a Jersey private fund targeting $100m to offer bespoke loans against art and collectibles.

Global art advisory Gurr Johns has launched a new $100 million art lending fund through its affiliate Gurr Johns Capital Credit Partners, with a first close already completed. Structured as a Jersey private fund with advice from Carey Olsen's investment funds team alongside US counsel Schulte Roth & Zabel, the vehicle will create bespoke financial solutions for individuals, galleries, companies and institutions seeking liquidity, new acquisitions or bridge financing. Managing director Alessandro Fiorotto described the fund as an innovative concept within the art advisory space, extending the group's existing advisory, appraisal and auction services. The launch reflects continued growth in the art lending market, which Gurr Johns estimates has tripled in eight years to more than $24 billion.
