Goodman Gallery in Johannesburg is showing A Johannesburg Landscape (or Thirteen Tons Settled to Brick), a solo exhibition by Mikhael Subotzky running 27 August to 31 October 2026. The presentation brings together paintings, photographs and the artist's Sticky-tape Transfers, weaving together the city's histories of migration, mapping and extraction. Motifs range from a 1976 Mercedes to the 80 Albert Street tragedy, building a portrait of Johannesburg as a place where personal and collective memory collide.
