Gazelli Art House has opened its first permanent New York gallery at 545 West 25th Street in Chelsea, launching the space with the group exhibition Put the Kettle On, which runs from 23 September to 31 October 2026 following a preview on 22 September. The move gives the London- and Baku-based gallery a third permanent location alongside its existing spaces. The inaugural show brings together eleven artists across more than six decades of practice: Agil Abdullayev, Memo Akten, Derek Boshier, Pauline Boty, Harold Cohen, Brendan Dawes, Jake Elwes, Lilly Fenichel, Jann Haworth, Kalliopi Lemos and Recycle Group. Historical and contemporary positions are placed in dialogue, in keeping with a programme the gallery has developed since Mila Askarova founded it in London in 2010. The title borrows a familiar phrase of hospitality, nodding to the tea traditions of London and Baku — the two cities that shaped the gallery's identity — and frames the exhibition as an invitation to gather, exchange ideas and forge connections. The opening was timed to Armory Week, running alongside the gallery's presentation at The Armory Show 2026, and marks a significant step in its international expansion. The Chelsea premises — the former Marlborough Gallery address, acquired for a reported $7.5 million — extend over more than 10,000 square feet across the first and second floors of the Chelsea Arts Tower. Purpose-built for large-scale contemporary art, with high ceilings, direct street access for moving major works and a private second-floor terrace, the new space is intended as a platform for exhibitions, commissions and interdisciplinary projects, and for deepening relationships with artists, collectors and institutions across North America.
