Frieze Abu Dhabi has set out the full programme for its inaugural edition, which takes place from 19 to 22 November 2026 at Manarat Al Saadiyat. The fair will host 84 galleries from 63 cities across 36 countries and regions, presented in partnership with the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi. It succeeds Abu Dhabi Art, which ran for 17 years, as the emirate's flagship fair. The main Galleries section holds more than 60 exhibitors spanning the mid-20th century to the present. Regional anchors include Carbon 12, Lawrie Shabibi, The Third Line, Tabari Artspace and Iris Projects, alongside international names such as Gagosian, Pace Gallery, Thaddaeus Ropac, Victoria Miro and Perrotin. Some 20 European galleries take part, with further representation from East and Southeast Asia, the Americas and Sub-Saharan Africa. Curated sections give the debut its distinctive shape. Frieze Masters Abu Dhabi, organised by Marika Sardar around an Indian Ocean theme, gathers objects from antiquity to the early 20th century. Global Futures, curated by Tarini Malik, focuses on artists connected to the cultural histories of the UAE and wider region, including Ala Younis, Abdullah Al Saadi and Seta Manoukian. The Focus section supports younger galleries with bursaries, presenting solo projects by artists such as Tahir Karmali, Chonon Bensho and Dala Nasser. Beyond the booths, the fair launches the first Frieze Abu Dhabi Artist Award, the Abu Dhabi debut of Frieze Sculpture, and In Dialogue, a new annual exhibition pairing an established UAE artist with an emerging one. A three-day talks programme and a Frieze Week of museum visits, including behind-the-scenes access to the Zayed National Museum and Louvre Abu Dhabi, extend the fair across the Saadiyat Cultural District.
