The Detroit Institute of Arts opened Georgia O'Keeffe: Architecture on September 11, 2026, the first exhibition devoted solely to the artist's lifelong engagement with the built environment. Nearly 40 works span Manhattan skyscrapers, rural barns and farmhouses, and the adobe structures of her New Mexico homes, drawn from the 1920s to 1960. The show is anchored by the DIA's own Stables from 1932. Two immersive video experiences recreate her New York and New Mexico views. Organized by curator Ben Colman, the exhibition runs through January 3, 2027.
