David Zwirner in New York is presenting jpegs ny, twelve works by Thomas Ruff derived from images of the World Trade Center attacks, on view 10 September to 17 October 2026 at 533 West 19th Street. Conceived as a commemoration of the 25th anniversary of September 11, the works were made between 2004 and 2007 by heavily compressing, recolouring and enlarging images found online, giving them a painterly, pixelated quality. The group was previously shown in Art Basel's Unlimited section, and editions are held by the Met, the Stedelijk, the Broad and Glenstone.
